DESCRIPTION:Pathways Beyond the Lab – Women in Pathways Outside of the Lab: A Panel\nFriday\, May 15\, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm\nLocation: E19-202 \nRegister for This Workshop \nFollowed by a networking dinner (attendance based on sign-ups). \nAttending any or all of the three Pathways Beyond the Lab* workshops counts as a maximum of one workshop credit toward the requirements for GradEL’s Graduate Certificate in Technical Leadership.  \n* Leadership Skills for Success (May 4)\, Communication Skills for Success (May 12)\, Women in Pathways Outside of the Lab: A Panel (May 15) \n\nDescription\nPanelists from consulting\, biotechnology\, venture innovation\, and science policy will discuss their career transitions and provide practical advice for exploring non-academic paths. \n\nPanelists\n\nCerise Raffier: Technical Specialist\, Finnegan\nDanielle Butts\, PhD: Manager of Cathode Performance Team\, Form Energy\nElizabeth Reczek\, PhD: Co-Founder and CEO of SemPresto\nKatia George\, PhD: Associate & Lead Adv Prof Degree Recruiting\, McKinsey & Co\n\n\n\nCerise Raffier leverages her technical background in chemistry and molecular biology to assist clients with patent prosecution matters and due diligence within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. Before joining Finnegan\, Cerise worked at the Center for the Development of Therapeutics (CDoT) at the Broad Institute. She developed biochemical and biophysical assays to identify and optimize small molecules for therapeutic applications. \nDanielle Butts manages a team responsible for developing one of Form Energy’s core technologies within cathode performance. She and her team do amazing work from discovery to factory improvements. Prior to Form Energy\, Danielle completed her PhD with Bruce Dunn at UCLA working within Materials Science and Engineering on Li-ion and Na-ion battery energy storage materials as well as thermal materials for energy savings. \nElizabeth Reczek is a Co-founder and CEO of SemPresto\, a medical device company whose flagship product integrates an epinephrine autoinjector with a smartphone. With experience as a Biotech executive\, Liz adapts cutting-edge technologies into commercially viable and life-saving products. Prior to her career in Biotech\, she completed a PhD in Cancer Biology at MIT\, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. \nKatia George is a McKinsey associate\, where she works with organizations to solve complex strategic and operational challenges to accelerate towards a more sustainable\, inclusive\, and growing future. Prior to her work with McKinsey\, Katia completed her PhD at UT Austin with George Georgiou focusing on the discovery and development of antibody therapeutics and the analysis of innate immune responses. \n\n\nAdd this workshop to your calendar using the “Add to Calendar” link below.
